WiFi 7 Across 2.5 Acres

Castleton Estate • 3 Outdoor APs • Seamless Roaming • Single SSID

Three-zone WiFi 7 outdoor deployment across a 2.5-acre Castleton estate — main house, covered pavilion, and historic log cabin connected under a single seamless network with 200–300 Mbps throughput at the garden.

Deployment Context

The Scenario

Third visit to an existing client. The 2.5-acre estate property includes a main house, covered pavilion with pond views, a historic log cabin, and extensive garden areas. The previous outdoor access point serving the cabin had failed, leaving the client without reliable coverage across the property.

Risk Assessment

Challenge Identified

The existing outdoor access point serving the cabin had failed. The property spans a main house, covered pavilion with pond views, a historic log cabin, and extensive garden areas. The client required one seamless network across all structures and outdoor zones — no dead zones, no separate networks, no manual switching.

Architecture Deployed

Solution Design

Three UniFi U7 Pro Outdoor access points deployed at strategic positions across the property — pavilion fascia, driveway midpoint, and main house. Hardwired via Cat6 with dual attic runs and underground infrastructure. WiFi 7 6GHz delivered unexpectedly strong outdoor range, maintaining 200–300 Mbps throughput across extended distances.

Methodology Applied

Every deployment follows the same four-phase field process so the finished system reflects planning and documentation, not on-site improvisation.

01

Terrain & RF Survey

Returning visit to a known property. RF survey confirmed the failed outdoor AP and identified optimal placement for three-zone coverage across the main house, pavilion, and log cabin with clear line-of-sight between positions.

02

Architecture Design

Architecture designed around three U7 Pro Outdoor access points at strategic positions — pavilion fascia, driveway midpoint, and main house — with hardwired Cat6 backhaul. WiFi 7 6GHz band selected for outdoor propagation between structures.

03

Precision Deployment

Single-day installation including dual attic cable runs, driveway post mount, pavilion fascia installation with co-located Starlink dish, and Fast Roaming (802.11r) configuration for seamless handoff across all zones.

04

Sovereignty Transfer

Client walkthrough of single-SSID roaming behavior, AP placement rationale, and WiFi 7 band steering. Phase 2 scope documented for indoor WiFi 7 integration and Eero replacement.

Measurable Results

Seamless roaming from main house to pavilion to cabin with zero dead zones across the full property. WiFi 7 6GHz delivered longer outdoor range than expected, with 200–300 Mbps throughput measured at the garden — 20ft from the barn. Phase 2 planned: indoor WiFi 7 integration and Eero replacement.

Your Property Deserves Engineered Infrastructure

Every deployment begins with a property assessment. Tell us how the property is built, where service breaks down, and what has to stay online, and we'll design the system around those facts.
