Multi-Building Estate Network
4 Buildings • Fiber Backhaul • Seamless Roaming
A four-building estate network built on fiber backhaul and disciplined AP placement so the property behaves like one system instead of four disconnected networks.
Estate Family • 4-Building Compound • 3 Acres • Seamless Connectivity
The Scenario
The estate included a main residence, guest house, pool house, and barn spread across three acres. The family wanted dependable connectivity in every structure and throughout outdoor living areas, but the property had no unified backbone and no reliable way to roam between buildings without interruption.
Challenge Identified
Properties like this fail when each structure is treated as its own island. The main issues were inter-building transport, outdoor coverage, and avoiding the common mistake of trying to bridge an estate-sized footprint with improvised consumer mesh alone.
Solution Design
We used a UniFi core with fiber backhaul between buildings, then placed 12 access points to support indoor and outdoor use zones with a single SSID and managed roaming. The result was a proper estate network with defined transport paths and supportable hardware across the compound.
Deliverables
Quantified Improvement
| Metric | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Building Connectivity | 1 of 4 buildings online | All 4 buildings, fiber-connected |
| Network Speed | Variable, consumer-grade | 1 Gbps throughout |
| Outdoor Coverage | None | Pool, patio, gardens |
| Roaming | Manual reconnect per building | Seamless single SSID |
Methodology Applied
Every deployment follows the same four-phase field process so the finished system reflects planning and documentation, not on-site improvisation.
Terrain & RF Survey
The site survey measured trench distances, structure-to-structure relationships, likely AP positions, and the outdoor areas where the family expected continuous service. Existing equipment was reviewed and determined not worth integrating into the new backbone.
Architecture Design
The design centered on fiber between buildings, controlled wireless coverage in each structure, and weather-rated outdoor service for the grounds. Routing paths were planned to preserve the landscape while still creating a permanent and documented backbone.
Precision Deployment
Over three days, fiber was trenched between the buildings, access points were installed across indoor and outdoor zones, and the roaming behavior was configured and verified so the network operated as one estate-wide system.
Sovereignty Transfer
The owner received topology and fiber route documentation, AP and credential records, remote management access, and guidance for future expansion so additional structures or outdoor zones can be added without reworking the core design.
Measurable Results
All four buildings now operate on one cohesive network, users can move between structures and grounds without reconnecting, and the property has the visibility and remote management needed to troubleshoot and expand the system intelligently over time.

Your Property Deserves Engineered Infrastructure
Every deployment begins with a property assessment. Tell us how the property is built, where service breaks down, and what has to stay online, and we'll design the system around those facts.
